Is Google Penguin 2.0 Update Underway?

Looks like, this weekend, a new Google Penguin update is about to happen – if SEO reports are to be believed.

Ever since, the Google Penguin update back in Apri 24th 2012, and May 25th, 2012, this is possibly the next big refresh/update.

June second week, 8th – 18th, there were several fluctuations in rankings reported widely around the SEO community – but there were no official word from Google. Mozcast does not report any major fluctuations this weekend though. In fact, the weather is all bright and sunny.

Barry Shwartz from SEO RoundTable reports that there are several reports from the SEO community implying a Google Penguin 2.0 update underway.

I have seen ranking improvements yesterday for certain search keywords though. Not a lot of change across many keywords, but very prominent one for a very competitive keyword, like from Page 6 to Page 1 for a three word phrase.

Not sure if that means anything. But it would be interesting to see if there are changes this weekend.

P.S – Generally Google rolls out updates/refreshes during the weekend when there is minimal traffic, so watch out!
