Why you ask ? Well….as a thanks may be. I know trackbacks does the same job but we need something more flexible and “configurable” I thought.
This is a wordpress plugin that lists down all the blogs that are linking to the current posts in a neat list below the post. It basically uses the Google backlinks feature on Blog Search.
I like this plugin for the following features.
The plugin is in the first stage, so there might be glitches but I like the concept.
Thanks for the mention. Unfortunately at the moment the universe seems to have b0rked so you won’t be able to connect. Grrrr.
You will also notice that you will not see your link in the plugin page because I moved it to http://dbzer0.com/the-penguin-migration/backlinks since. Feel free to update your link
Cheers!

Would this be smartly used to replace trackbacks or just in addition too?

It’s an addition I believe. But that may look funny, so you might want to replace trackbacks.

Dennis, this is in addition but it also complements them as not all blogs use them (mainly blogger)
Other than that, two things:
a) Trackbacks appear between and similar to comments so this looks totally different.
b) It can start hidden so it does not have to conflict. People can expand it when trying to see the links

So out of the choice, I should just keep both.
Most trackbacks end up in my Akismet filter…still haven’t figured that one out.

OK 2 problems.
It installed ok but pressing the options tab just brings me to my home page and when I try to click the link that says i have a blog linking to me, it does nothing.
