
Google logo is one of the unique logos which has immense brand recognition irrespective of it’s simple and easy-to-make look.Here are some myths and facts that i learned about it.
- Google logo is copyrighted
- The font used is not Book Antiqua(as explained here)
- The font used is not Times New Roman(as explained here)
- The font looks strikingly similar to the above fonts but is actually one called as Catull- you may buy it here.
- You can create simple google logos on photoshop similar to the original logo but not quite right.

To check if any tutorials available on the net is originally helping you make a google logo - check the following
- The g, the tail part of the g should start from the right side of the top circle/top part.
- The e - the horizontal line completing the first half of the letter should be slanted upwards(almost 45 degrees) and not perfectly horizontal.
- The tail ends of G and L will have slight sharp blade like projections and are not smooth or blunt.
- The L will have a longer right hand side projection and a shorter left hand side projection at the lower end and vice-versa on the top.
- The inner circles of the two O’s will be slanted to a 12 degrees left and are not perfectly in line with the external curves.
