Was going through the Kiruba show and the Indian startups featured on it the other day. Very interesting to see how the new Indian youth is converting oppurtunities to reality through their web start up ventures. An interesting point to be noted is that many of them(if not all) are NRI’s or NRI related. Well, that’s not what grabbed my attention today.

Yaari - A social networking site - Desi isshtyle!

Just visiting these sites you will find that a lot of ideas and brains are put into. But many a times i found that these sites are far back the web 2.0 concept. They don’t have good(even acceptable) page ranks - not even a good layout(seen site with No titles on!) and no good logos. Even though the SEO in me would forgive these sites for their low page ranks(cos they are new), the designer wouldn’t let me pass by the logos and the layout. Honestly speaking i found many of them - crap!

Picsquare - A “gifting” site

A web2.0 concept logo would have a shiny gradient filled, border outlined,perspective shadowed,star burst-ed logos.None of the startups seem to have any point whatsoever to any of these. So, i decided to help them out a bit and designed a few logos for them - with the web2.0 concept of course, and here’s what i came up with(scattered through out this post).

These are for a few sites that i thought would really take up in the future and has the potential to make it big.All they need is a serious look at the design and the layout and the logos of course.

I hope these logos seem attractive enough for the folks back there and they do something with their logos - shameful to see Indian startup sites with a half made logo!
