Okay, so you’ve got a rocking blog of your’s. Now what if nobody knows about it other than your friends?

It’s not worth the cause right?
Here are some hints as to how to get people visit your site and thereby increase traffic - using Email Signatures?

Use Email signatures
Many email clients allow you to make signatures of your own. Signatures are nothing but the small footer message that is attached to every mail you send.
You can either make a normal text signature like - Visit my blog - www.myblog.com
Or, you can use HTML scripting that will help you add image and colours to your signature.

Example,

Visit My Blog

While popular email clients like Gmail and Yahoo does not allow HTML signatures, you can try them at clients like Outlook and Thunderbird. They support HTML signatures.

Things to note while creating Email Signatures

- Always check your link - Please do not send a dead link to friends - cos once they get a dead link from you, then they are NOT going to click the link you suggest them next time.

- Do not give invalid links like http://www.myblog.com/techno?php123?.xyz
It not only makes your link look tricky - but may not point to the right place.
Instead, give short and crisp links like www.myblog.com

- Make sure you do not send the email link to everyone in your list. Theere may be your competetor or your boss whom you dont want to give the link to your site to.
use the “Do not use signature ” feature, its available for most popular email clients. When you draft a mail, there will be a small checker box appearing at the bottom, unchecking which the signature will not be added to your mail.

- Send a test email to yourself, to see how the link appears to the reader.

- Do not give colouring/large fonts to signatures, that make them scream out saying “This is an AD -Dont click me”

- Make them look tidy and neat, if possible as similar to the text in the mail.
