One of my client insisted that he stick to the the theme he was using, while I was keen on changing it. The reason - though the site is a delight to the eyes, it was miserable in terms of SEO and other standards. I had a bad time convincing him why he should change his theme. - Dr. Watson’s site validation check
Dr. Watson is a free service to analyze your web page on the Internet. Just give the URL of your page and Watson will get a copy of it directly from the web server. Watson can also check out many other aspects of your site, including link validity, download speed, search engine compatibility, and link popularity. It rolls many features into one, so if you are looking for a single stop for checks, this one is the place to be.

- Page load time checker (around the world)
This is a sleek tool which checks your sites page load time as from different parts of the world. This test based on the fact that Internet connections are at different speeds around the world. It shows the file size dealt with at the respective places and the time taken to load the pages. Interesting one!
- All in One website validation check
This website does not check all the factors on site validation but provides you links to the appropriate sites where the check can be done. Includes tool such as XML/HTML validity, CSS, Links and structure validity.
- RSS Feed validator
This tool helps you to check if your RSS feed validates against the standards and throws up warnings at places where necessary.
- General Conformance check
Checks your site for all the general standards and see if there are rooms to improvement. It checks for the XHTML and CSS compatibility.
- Quality and Accessibility check
This is an awesome tool that checks your pages for accessibility, metadata, page content, links, browser compatibility issues, search and navigation issues and a check on W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Linked in has opened it’s store where it would be selling branded products for affordable prices to help you wear that “professional” look where ever you go.
They have some fun featured there on the store, where all the models that you see are the actual employees at Linked in.
The gorgeous lass you see on the left is Veronica and she helps in recruiting. You can find out who the models are by hovering the mouse over their pics.
Linked in has T-shirts, Outerwear, Caps, Jackets, Gel pens etc all at affordable rates.

Accessing Yahoo messenger at office is not a big deal at all. These days offices take pride in blocking websites like Facebook, Orkut etc simply because they don’t want employees to browse the internet and wile away their quality time on non-productive stuff. Yahoo messenger and even MSN messenger are blocked at some corporate offices.
There has been an increasing demand in people searching for “How to access yahoo messenger/orkut/facebook at office” on Google and for them there is great news indeed.
If you are using Firefox, there is a brand new add-on that’s been released which will help you to access Yahoo messenger and other messengers at work. The add-on will add a small extensible window to your Firefox browser from which you can access Yahoo messenger. You can drag and drop files to your friends even. And every time some one IM’s you you get a cute little popup too.
With this extension now you can chat, IM or share files with your Yahoo messenger buddies right from your firefox browser at office or where ever the Yahoo tool is blocked.

Flock has finally released the Beta 1.0 version of its social browser, which is currently still in private beta. This is among the few browsers to be created around the act of social activity and web 2.0 concepts enabling cross-network media-sharing and communication tools.

Everyones carrying a digital camera these days. And everyone’s clicking lot of pics too. Where do you store these files?
If you prefer your PC that means you are going to run out of space sooner or later. You would be using flickr or picasa otherwise..but there’s storage limit for free users at these services too. Have you tried making good use of these photos other than storing it online and sharing it with your friends? May be printing your friends picture on to a tea cup and sending him on his birthday? Cool isn’t it?
Picsquare is an online portal that helps you to do just that. And if you are in India it’s damn cheap too (I wouldn’t be promoting it otherwise). To print your photo on a tea-cup, it costs only Rs 299 and to print on a T-shirt it costs only Rs 399/-. That’s cheaper than you thought I bet!
Picsquare accepts credit cards, but I’ve had a few glitches the first time i tried to order a coffee-cup. But they were quick to sort it on intimating about it on email. I think this is a very good application and an excellent idea for Indian startup , when there are a lot of NRIs who would want to gift personalized gifts to their folks in India.
The site is neatly designed, even though from the SEO perspective, like all Indian startups, it does not perform well. There is unwanted clutter of script on the landing page and keywords(if at all any) are not highlighted.
But a cool service, you must try.
