Soon after its release on June 1st, it looked like Microsoft Bing over shadowed Google at least for a day. People were talking about it, testing, finding bugs and surprises, comparisons and what not ?
But now, it looks like Microsoft Bing was only just that – some buzz !
I’m pretty sure all of us tried it and found it, err….well interesting of course. But “decision engine” ? I don’t know ! Its a good concept anyway.
Compete has released its week traffic stats for Bing and things look very disappointing.
Here’s the first chart showing daily change in searcher penetration over the past week. It shows how marketing and buzz around the Bing launch has greatly extended the reach it inherited from MSN/Live.
And here is the second graph which shows why Google and Yahoo are not affected by BIng. In fact, whatever BIng enjoyed was either testers trying out Bing or people redirected from the Microsoft channels like Live.com (which too have grown weak over the week.)
Find out more details here.
I have been using bing for sometime now and its pretty good…kinda my default search nw…
