How to get free backlinks

I would like to know how to add good content to a auction site, every one just add there products. What can I use to get content there will help for SEO. Thanks

Hi Jakes, for an auction site which largely deals with product descriptions, there is very little as compared to other sites, content that can be added. But from what I’ve done earlier (for a client which dealt with IP telephones) I found that the product description itself is a good place to write good seo friendly content. the technical specs may be something that you can ignore. But in the product description, you can really do a lot by maintaining good keyword density and redrafting content. It is easier as you are likely to have focussed keywords. One thing to note is that, you shouldn’t copy content from other sites. For one of my clients who complained of google not indexing his content rich pages (millions of them), i found that we got an almost 100% bounce back, when we redrafted the content and added a rich interlinking pattern. In fact all the content that he already had was copied and would only count as duplicate content.

So things are going to be easy if you create unique content redrafted around your particular keywords and follow a rich interlinking pattern. Having said that, this is again a case to case thing. So you may have to take deviations.

Cool information and I would like to tell also SMO, and Online Book marking We can get good links and quality visitors but how You are going to approach in your post that is vital.

I have many ( thousands) of backlinks in yahoo but very few in google. Am i doing something wrong? What could be causing this? Doesn’t google see these backlinks?

Brit, this is because of the difference in the thinking patterns of Google and Yahoo!
Yahoo collects all the links including the no follow ones (comments/forums etc) as your backlinks while Google ignores them and collects only the contextual text links from other sites. (dofollow ones)

I have read so many things about backlinks but i am still having trouble with it. Is is true that Google looks at how many backlinks you have when they are doing Page Rank updates?

The most difficult thing for me is that without backlinks, you are not being found. So poeple don’t read it, and don’t link to you. Starting a new website is a hassle. Never to mention about the time it takes for a domain to be respected by google.
