July is almost over and I’m kind of overwhelmed - with mixed emotions.
Blogging is eating me up, taking more of my time and more energy as never before. The good thing is that the income is also going up. This is what happened in July - a snapshot.
hi mani
sorry about the pr but i have pr but no traffic whats more important?
i have a site http://redseacheck.com which went strangely from pr0 to pr5 in one update and when i search google another domain comes as the first search this other domain is not owned by me and has never been forwarded to redseacheck, do you know what gives?

Roger, PR comes and goes So, you know.
Reg: the question, well I’ll vote for traffic. Because traffic basically means that people like your blog, and there are repeat visitors. They are likely to link to you and listen to you. So theres a high success rate. Having a high PR with no traffic is not an ideal situation.

It is great to know that you are getting more projects with regard to hosting. I am regular reader of mashable. Mashable is a great website with lots of interesting and informative contents. With regard page rank my website http://www.simplewayoflife.net has been slapped by google. My website’s page rank has dropped from 4 to to 0 in the past six months.

Hi profit,
Not at all. AdSense has never worked for me on this blog, may be I should start an MFA. lol It only gives me around 200 bucks every month, so you can imagine. My main income is from seo consultation and guest blogging projects.

Mani,
You have mentioned that you know the reason for PR decrease, can you please share it, so that others will also be benefited?

Sure Nirmal, glad you asked.
Comments were no-”nofollowed” and also I had links to my clients websites on the right handbar, which were totally unrelated to the content. Google could easily label them as “bought” links.

@intradaycalls The plugin is from R Marsh.

So after making all the links nofollow are you planning to file a reconsideration request?
BTW do we need to make comments nofollow?
Reply
Reconsideration request is filed when a site is kicked out of Google index, yeah? Not required here, I’ve taken off all those links out.Its better if you keep all the comment links nofollow, if you want to make it dofollow, you’ll have to moderate it heavily to keep out of spam and weird names I’ve put it on hold now.

I guess we can file a reconsideration request for PR as well, I found lot of articles on that.
BTW in wordpress comments are nofollow, isnt that true?

Not at all Nirmal, it’s a genuine page rank issue, I dont think it’s anything to worry about. I’m not selling any ads or links based on the PR. Yes, on wordpress comments are by default nofollow, you can use a plugin that can selectively or completely change all of the comment links to dofollow. Won’t recommend it though.
