Just came across an interesting thought through a story on the social media today.

How safe are bloggers? Do you really have the freedom that you think there is ?

According to this blog, here are three examples that might make you think twice about the freedom that you enjoy.

1. A blogger who leaked the Guns and Roses upcoming album.

2. A blogger from Burma sent to 20 years in prison for reporting on protests

3. The Sarah Palin – Africa issue

All these incidents throw light to the fact that bloggers might not be enjoying the freedom that they think they really have. It is a scary thought, but I’m sure this concept will be more talked about in the coming years.

  1. I feel its a bit harsh on the Burma blogger. 20yrs …. Huh thats a rigorous punishment.

I always feel when there is lot of pornography, illegal content entertained in the internet and web arena which is in fact having huge impact on people and none gets punished. Why do such poor people get punished. I feel he might have been warned if at all its a crime to blog on certain issues on the first instinct.
