There is no doubt that AdSense ads works best with search engine traffic. Search Engine traffic consists of “Information seekers” and they are mostly open to all possible information related to the topic they are searching, including relevant ads. This is the crux of success for AdSense monetized websites. Provided that the AdSense ads displayed are relevant, there is a high chance that they would be clicked.
There are lot of plugins available for WordPress that will neatly inject AdSense ads to the content of your blog. They align it top, bottom, middle etc, which is a great relief for many who aren’t really bothered to tweak with the code.
However, when it comes to deciding when to display the ads to users, there aren’t much options. Example, if you wanted to display your AdSense ads only to Google visitors, how would you do it ?
Let me introduce two awesome plugins that will help you do this.
(From a favorite plugin developer of mine – Ozh)
This plugin allows you to choose when to show up an Ad, based on who the referrer is. You can select between search engines (generally all search engines), and also decide which posts should carry the ads based on how old they are. Essentially you can decide two criteria.
- Display the ads only to referrers from search engines.
- Display the ads selectively on posts older than a specified amount of time.
Also, there is a variety of criteria, post these three basic rules. For instance you can also set rules to not display the ad if the visitor from the search engine has already viewed more than a set of ads (specify the number of times.).
So, if you have a good understanding of, when and how the AdSense ads work and when it doesn’t most importantly, then this is the plugin for you.
This is a new plugin from Daniel and Andreas Nurbo, which keeps things amazingly simple. It gives you very clear options on when to shows the ads to your visitors.
You can select the sources for which the ads should be displayed. Also you can select what positions the ads will be displayed.
“Example, if you wanted to display your AdSense ads only to Google visitors, how would you do it ?”
To show a specific content to a specific user, it is named “cloaking”, no ?
