Okay, this is exciting news. The better guys teamed up, Bing and Yahoo, so we are looking at narrowing down on the competition, hopefully a bigger and better No.2 player to Google.
Bing, with its recent launch and buzz sure is turning heads and this time was successful enough in convincing Yahoo that they should work together.
Carol Bartz CEO Yahoo and Steve Balmer CEO Bing signs the agreement (via – Bing)
Carol Bartz, CEO of Yahoo today said in their official blog that according to the agreement between Microsoft and Yahoo, Microsoft will become the search engine behind Yahoo! and we will become the worldwide exclusive relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers.
The agreement is only in the search segment and does not cover any other product from Yahoo (flickr for example). So this is awesome ! Looking forward to it. You can find more info about the deal here.

I heard that Yahoo!’s stock really took a big hit going down around 12%. I think that people think that Microsoft will really get the better deal between the two.
Anyway, I wonder how Google will respond. I love this story. The amazing search engines battle it out.

Nobody can beat Google In Search Engine business.

At long last…..these two entities have been threatening to join forces for so long, that I’m not surprised in the least. Bing is proving to be very popular, and I reckon that this partnership, along with the threat posed by Wolfram Alpha, is definitely causingf Google some concern.

I think a stronger competition is a good thing, nobody likes a monopoly, and having an alternative will encourage progress and new ideas all round.

We like adcenter for the great conversion rates of Bing’s traffic.. With Yahoo though we are forced to buy clicks from junk partners that send nothing but fake clicks.. It’s a daily job to monitor all the new bad-domains to block.. And you have to PAY for all that..
With the current merge of Yahoo and Bing let’s hope the new “team” will do it RIGHT by giving the advertisers the choice to pay only for real yahoo/bing searches.. just like Adwords and adcenter allow (for now?).
Just my 2 cents
Cheers!
