So what’s new in SEO world ? Faster Performance, Weight Loss and Shorter Page Load Times, as we had mentioned earlier. Google recently introduced a new tool to their Webmasters stable that will basically check how fast your pages are loading, and give you insights on the same. So what does that imply ?
Page Load Times have become more important than ever. People like fast loading pages, and so do search engines. So if you’re on a shared hosting or have a bloated website by any chance, its high time to upgraded.
You can see the page load time check tool in the webmasters console under the labs section.
What does the Site Performance tool do ?
- Checks overall page loading time, gives you a visual representation of how your pages have been performing all this while.
- Selects pages that take time to load, so you know who’s the culprit.
- Gives you suggestions on how to improve the page load time for the pages on the site.
Essentially, this is a tool that analyzes your overall site performance and helps you improve it, comparing it with the standards. A good move from Google, now its work time for webmasters.

What is the best loading time according to you? I tried few tools to check my website speed but the result was quite shocking. iwebtools shown me 4-7 sec variation but webmaster tool has shown me 30 sec. That is a big difference.
It look like it is a time for new era of fast web world.

You’re right Ricky,
GWM is showing longer page load times compared to other online page load time testing tools such as iwebtool or pingdom. I think the difference is that GWM looks at average loading time from various connection speeds OR a slower connection. Online tools like pingdom on the other hand checks it from a faster connection probably and hence the difference.
I think the Google WM load time specs would be longer on average, so theres no need to panic. A good 7-10 secs however would be ideal.
But this is something we got to study.
Cheers !

Get the speedy websites, it’s time to set multiple servers in different regions for better ranking in Google. It takes couple of seconds for visitors to either land on your website or leave it, Google has realized it, we need to speed up:)

Great article. I knew that fast loading time was good few users, obviously, but didn’t know that Google now takes it into account with SEO.
Now for CMS, like Wordpress and Joomla!, do too many plugins affect load time? How do you combat this?
