It is old school SEO, which says a 6% keyword density has to be maintained in a well written SE optimized copy to make sure that the search engines pick up the keyword from the rest of the text. There has been no or very less changes to the keyword density algorithm that webmasters still follow the 6% keyword density rule. Here are some free seo tools that will help you to determine the keyword density of any webpage of any text article you’ve written. Some of them are stable and advanced while some are just another tool to use in case the popular onces fail.
If you'd like to stay updated with SEO, grab the RSS feed now !What's this?
Yey another KW density checker is what I like
jokes apart, these are really useful tools, if you are SEO conscious (or should it be conscious about SEO (??)
Mani I would like to read a list of all relevant SEO tools, that one has to use for every article he writes…
That sounds interesting Rajesh.
Nice list! You had three that weren’t in our list - very cool. Actually, I betcha that is true of almost any list, given the wideness of the internet.
We have a specialized keyword analyzer for Yahoo Store owners at the link under my name. It gets a ton of traffic (especially relative to there being <100K yahoo stores!) so I think there is probably a good market for niche analysis.

You write some great articles here on your blog and have been seeing you round the web consistently. But keyword density?
Surely you wouldn’t worry about something old school like that?
Thanks for the list. At the moment I can only use web based tools due to the use of my macbook. Is anyone aware of any good mac software?
I will check my way through the list and bookmark some of the greater ones!
I have been trying to build my window cleaning and power washing website for orange and los angeles county, and I think that my keyword density is too high and that I am getting spammed.
Great list! I always consider keyword density and it DOES make a difference. Just don’t over do it!
