Google takes us back to 2001, with it’s nostalgic search engine here. Interestingly, there was no SEO then.

    Mostly it was META tag manipulation and directory submission. Even myself, wrote an article on how to submit to directories, in 2002.

  8. They were out there, it was the term itself that had not gone mainstream as Sree shows with his search term. I found many under similar terms such as: search engine rankings, search engine tools, ect..

    I’ve been online from the mid 90’s and it feels like the term SEO has been around forever. I can’t remember it not being a part of web life.
