What’s similar in Bloxpress, A9, Ninjawords and Alltheweb-Live search?
AJAX is - which is shorthand for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML.AJAX is the “everybody’s fav kid” these days. You hear a lot about it’s functionality benefits in podcasts, designers conferences, seminars, lunch break discussions and brags! True - once you’ve experienced an AJAX-ified web application/site, you’ll see how superbly effective it is.Seamless - quick and effective. The web 3.0 concept is already boasting of ajaxified application that load directly onto your borwser - making online life almost easier.
Why “almost”?
Well, with any new technology comes the back lashes - and ajax is no different. It wouldn’t load if your browser is not “ON” javascript. But to an SEO - this is of no importance, what i’m concerned is - “WHAT THE HELL AM I GONNA OPTIMISE IN A SITE” - that has ajax all over the place?
If you don’t know - AJAX is more of javascript and all the code and junk(as for the bots) goes into that particular snippet(more like a flash movie loaded ) and there is nothing left to read for the crawlers!
Which poses with another threat - Would you be compromising on your search engine listings/rans if you use AJAX? Well yes and no.
Yes - Since AJAX uses more of javascript there is almost no on site HTML code that is seen by bots and since bots don’t read/parse javascript - your site is basically a no-content site!
What you do
Why NO?
Well, i’m inclined to believe that the extensive use of AJAX will be the new face of internet - when desktop applications are directly loaded to your browser and folksonomy takes on a new leap of communicating from application to applications.
SEO’s will have less room for on-site optimisation, and the only effective alternative is to go for more PR(Public Relations) techniques like PR(Press Releases) and online media publicity campaigns, rather than Organic methods of optimization.
This is an example to show that the line is thinning between the PR and the PR. That is Public Relations and Page Rank.See my thoughts on this concept in this article.
