Okay Google is against link purchases. But fortunately they are not against advertisements.
In the Google guidelines, it’s clearly mentioned that blogs or websites should not go for the following..

  • Links intended to manipulate PageRank
  • Links to web spammers or bad neighborhoods on the web
  • Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging (”Link to me and I’ll link to you.”)
  • Buying or selling links that pass PageRank

Google is OK with you selling advertisements on your blog, but provided you have the “nofollow” tag attached to the links sold on your site. Well, this is to ensure that their algorithm isn’t being corrupted, just because you link to the wrong sites (spam and irrelevant sites) for money.
