Folks, this week I’m doing a podcast on link building through commenting on blogs. How to do it properly, and where to source the links from.
The url mentioned is Dofollow blogs and Courtney Tuttle’s list.
Here’s a nice email forward I received today which clearly “suggests” how funny Google can be at times.
SEO copywriting isn’t the same as normal copywriting. It could be boring, to be honest. What what I insist my clients is, they never make a formula out of these suggestions. They are guidelines that you just need to keep in mind while writing on your blog. That way it is easy. But if you srrat counting the umber of words in the whole text and then divide it with the number of times the keyword is repeating to find out the keyword density and stuff, I don’t think this will be an interesting exercise.

Sitelinks are more common these days. Popular blogs and websites have been awarded Google sitelinks recently. Google’s explanation is that this is a completely automated phenomena and there’s nothing one can do do help the sitelinks appear for his/her site on the Googel SERPs.
Daily SEO blog has a sitelink and there are some random links on it. See screenshot.
Now, what appears on the sitelinks is completely up to to the Google bots to decide. I can’t see a definite pattern on the links appearing on the sitelinks but yes one of the factors that decides it is the “Popular Continue Reading…
At the Mumbai Barcamp, while talking to the audience there was a gentleman with a genuine doubt.
“Ok, so you tell me that Google will penalize you if you sell links. But how the hell would Google find it out when I’m not talking about it?”
Interesting perspective huh? So many of us are scared about the Google ban and have not sold links at all (or have not publicly told so) and there’s this guys who challenges Google asking how does it find out if he’s selling links?
There is one school of thought that says that Google traces you down Continue Reading…
That’s good news isn’t it? So what does it mean? What does it give to you and your blog?
Well, basically it just means that when you comment on any articles on this blog, the link that you provide is actually getting indexed by Google and some juice is passed over to your blog.
Normally when you comment on any blog, the link is “nofollowed” which means that they will not be traced by search engine spiders, other than Yahoo and some insignificant ones. Now, DailySEOblog is an exception, so if you want incoming links to your blog, all you need Continue Reading…
Why should you save bandwidth? You’ve got enough of it haven’t you?
You should ask that question to someone who gets lot of traffic, especially from Digg/ SU etc. They’d immediately gulp down anything you suggest to save the bandwidth.
Recently, there have been server breakdowns with many bloggers because of the social media outburst. Many of them did nothing wrong but some ardent reader of their’s picked up one of the stories and submitted to Digg. The story went viral and made it to the top of the Digg’s most dugg pages. Unfortunately the blogger was running on a shared Continue Reading…
Ever had problems finding what your blogs ranks are on the search engines for particular keywords?
Like for instance, if you wanted to check where your blog ranked on Google for the keyword “make money online”, it would be a big task since the keyword itself is very competitive and if you are not problogger or shoemoney, you are probably in the 167th page or worse. So it’s not quite possible to track where your blog is ranking by searching through the Google results right?
Here is a nice tool that will take care of it. Rank Checker is a plugin Continue Reading…
Facebook has applications that you can add to your profile, you know that right?
Now, Orkut is planning for introducing applications so that it can harness the full power of social media as such. And talks are in progress and the grapevine is that the applications will be available to all (including India) in June/July.
But here is a neat trick which will get you access to all the entire collection of applications available due for release right now.
See the entire screenshot of applications here.
There are a lot of applications like

This should explain the little surprise news that I had promised earlier. I’ve decided to co-run OrganicApex with Ashwin. And this little card with the Digg button explains what we are going to do. We are probably the best guys in India who can handle SEO and SMM together delivering a ’single umbrella’ online marketing strategy.
Meanwhile, Barcamp was awesome. Met some cool chaps with some brilliant ideas. Also, met some blog readers like Ankit Arora, Ranjan Varma, and some other very cheerful people. Thanks all for grabbing me out of the crowd and chatting hope you all have Continue Reading…
