As a move to open-up to more people beyond the geek crowd, Twitter is planning for a homepage redesign, Biz Stone announced in an interview lately.
The Twitter homepage have been good enough so far but it clearly fails to convince curious people who visits Twitter to find out what the hype is all about. Twitter is the hottest thing mentioned today in ads, TV shows, Radio and publications and the number of people who pays visit to find out what this thing is all about, isn’t really convinced about it, without signing up.
At the moment, you have to sign up to find out what this thing is all about. Unless you do that, the homepage doesn’t give much info on the possibilities of Twitter. So, its like a huge wall behind which the whole party is going on. This move will make the whole wall transparent may be. And that’s a good thing.
Biz Stone says
We want it to show us as a place where people can discover what is going on in real-time and much more.
“You can try it out without having to sign up, so you can get an idea of what Twitter is before you use it. We need to do a better job of explaining ourselves to people who hear about us and then have no idea what do to.
