Looks like Googleplex is churning out new features by day . Google’s latest search feature will now start showing additional info, from threads on forums, based on relevancy to your search query.
Google’s words –
When several different discussions on a site are relevant to your query, we indent them under the primary result and include the date of each post.
It means that when you search query matches more than one thread on a forum, Google might list down some of those threads right in your web results. (Beneath the site info)
Which is good. The idea I guess, is to deliver maximum relevant results and probably save your time.
But why forums ? Why not blogs, and be a little web 3.0 focused ?
May be Google should work on finding more results from related categories / posts / labels and list them down on the SERPs just like for forums.

This is interesting stuff, it seems that Google is having a bit of an overhaul at the moment its quite exciting. I don’t think it will be long before SEO companies cotton on to this and start influencing these kinds of results for there own benefit.

Forums are just so yesterday, and while I feel that there might well be very relevant threads, especially in the more specialised niches, blogs also have a great audience, and can be much more focused in many instances. I suppose we’ll get to that though, as Google is not noted for resting on their laurels!
